Located in the Via Ghibellina, one of the most charming (and steepest) streets in the medieval town of Cortona (Arezzo), in the heart of Tuscany, restaurant La Bucaccia was converted from the old cellars of 12th century Palazzo Cattani; the restaurant serves traditional Tuscan cuisine in a cosy yet elegant ambience with exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. La Bucaccia is a truly typical restaurant where Tuscan cuisine is celebrated in a charming atmosphere.
In this cosy, family-run restaurant, you are guaranteed a warm welcome from owner Romano Magi, a DOP cheese affineur and charcuterie expert as well as, and above all, a lover of Arretine cuisine, his wife Agostina who, true to local tradition, accurately prepares superb traditional dishes from the Cortonese and Tuscan cuisine, including soups, hand-made pasta, I.G.P. Chianina beef and traditional desserts, using impeccable seasonal ingredients.
The restaurant comprises of two cosy rooms (seating up to 30 people); in the summertime a small street-side terrace with old stone walls and a stunning view over the Valdichiana makes a perfect spot for al fresco dining. The first room features a fire-place and an old grape-press; the second room looks into the wine-cellar, converted from a large stone well . The restaurant was renovated with great care and attention to detail and is the ideal location for business lunches, romantic candle-lit dinners, birthday parties, small ceremonies, weddings as well as the perfect place to enjoy an evening of good food and wine in a nice atmosphere.
